Appointments, services and studio policies
These Terms govern appointments and services provided by Kniphuis Amsterdam ("we") to clients ("you") for precision cuts, colour gloss treatments, blow-dry finishes and fringe trims at our studio on Utrechtsestraat, Amsterdam.
Appointments are confirmed by email or phone reply. Walk-in fringe trims are accepted when a chair is available but cannot be guaranteed without booking. First-time colour clients may require a consultation or patch test before full service.
Starting prices are listed on our pricing page. Final charges depend on hair length, density and service complexity. Payment is due at the end of your appointment unless otherwise agreed. We accept common card and contactless payment methods.
Please provide at least 24 hours notice to reschedule or cancel. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged a fee equal to 50% of the booked service. Repeated no-shows may require a deposit for future bookings.
Colour results depend on your hair history, natural base and aftercare. We discuss realistic expectations during consultation. Previous box colour, henna or chemical treatments must be disclosed when booking. We reserve the right to decline or modify a service if hair condition poses a health risk.
If a patch test is required, it must be completed at least 48 hours before your colour appointment. Failure to attend a scheduled patch test may result in rescheduling the colour service.
If you are unhappy with your cut or colour, contact us within seven days. We offer a complimentary adjustment where the issue is due to our work and your hair condition allows correction. Style preference differences after agreed consultation are not grounds for refund.
We may photograph completed work for portfolio use unless you opt out in writing before your appointment. Personal photography in the studio is welcome with respect for other clients' privacy.
Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant appointment except where Dutch consumer law provides otherwise. We are not liable for indirect loss such as event costs beyond our control.
These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes may be brought before the competent courts in Amsterdam or your local jurisdiction if you qualify as a consumer under EU law.
